Terms & digital purchases
What you are buying, when you receive it, and how to get help if something is not right.
Last updated: 26 October 2026.
Who you are buying from
The Art of Gifting is operated by Richmal Maybank. Purchase enquiries and cancellation requests should be sent to hello@theartofgifting.co.uk. Please include the email used at checkout and your order reference if you have it. Never email your card details.
Your Founding Reader purchase
- £9.99 single payment: the final price includes applicable tax. There is no monthly fee, subscription or automatic renewal.
- The e-book pre-order: The Art of Gifting is still being written. Publication is 11th November; the finished e-book will be sent to your purchase email as a digital download. It is not a physical book and is not available to download yet.
- The included Gifting Companion gift planner: available immediately after confirmed payment and creating and confirming your account. Use the same email at checkout and sign-in to link your purchase. The free preview does not include planner access.
Stripe securely takes payment at checkout. A successful payment must be verified before your order and planner access are confirmed. If publication changes, we will contact buyers with the revised information and their options, including requesting a refund for an undelivered pre-order.
Digital delivery and access
The preview is a downloadable PDF. The finished e-book will be delivered digitally by email; any final file-format or device requirements will be provided before delivery. You need an email account and a device capable of opening the supplied file. Download and back up your own copy when it arrives.
The planner is an online service, not a downloadable book. It needs an internet connection, a supported browser and your verified buyer account. No monthly payment is required, but uninterrupted service or permanent website availability cannot be guaranteed. You can export your planner notes from your account. A downloaded e-book remains yours to keep if the website later closes.
Cancellations, refunds and your rights
For an online consumer purchase, a 14-day cancellation period normally applies from the date you enter the contract, subject to the rules for digital content and services. To cancel, email hello@theartofgifting.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You do not have to use a special form.
Instant planner access does not by itself mean you have waived your cancellation rights. Any exception for digital delivery or a service starting during the cancellation period requires the relevant express request, consent and acknowledgement. These terms do not treat payment, account creation or downloading the complimentary preview as that consent.
Where a refund is due, it will be returned to the original payment method within the applicable legal timescale, normally within 14 days of your cancellation notification. A full refund ends paid planner editing, while existing notes remain readable and exportable in your account. Partial refunds do not remove planner editing access.
If digital content is faulty, not as described or not supplied as agreed, you retain your rights under applicable consumer law, including repair, replacement or a price reduction or refund where required. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.
The free preview and Gift Finder
The preview and Gift Finder are available without a purchase. Marketing permission is optional and separate. Finder ideas are suggestions, not guarantees of suitability, stock, safety or price. Check retailer descriptions, age guidance and any allergies before buying.
Retailer purchases are made with the retailer, under their own delivery and return terms. We may receive commission on eligible affiliate links, without increasing your price. A link does not mean a partnership or verified inventory.
Personal use and community contributions
Your e-book and preview are for personal use. Please do not resell or redistribute the files without permission. You remain responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of information you enter in your planner or submit to the site.
Stories remain private unless you grant a specific publication permission. Instagram and e-book permissions are separate. Read the submission form before sending a story, and see the Privacy Policy for how to withdraw permission.
Questions or problems
Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. These terms are intended for UK consumers; mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply where relevant. See the contact page for purchase, privacy and accessibility enquiries.
